Student Check-in Information for Boston Conservatory at Berklee

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that affords students 1) the right to have access to their education records, 2) the right to seek to have the records amended, and 3) the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. The Boston Conservatory will only release directory information about you with your written consent. Directory information includes (but is not limited to):

• full name
• local address
• phone number
• dates of attendance
• semester level/term level
• class
• enrollment status (full-time, part-time, withdrawn)
• program of study (master’s, bachelor’s, diploma, certificate, or other)
• field of study (major, minor, institute, instrument)
• school email address
• most recent educational institution attended
• awards and honors
• degrees conferred, including dates of attendance
• past performances and artistic experience
• ID photograph

A student may ask that no personally identifying information be released without their written consent. Such a block on all information is arranged by contacting the Registrar.

By enrolling in the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, you are receiving an educational benefit and the costs associated with that benefit are payable upon the published date specified.

By registering for classes at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, you acknowledge financial responsibility for the confirmed courses resulting from this registration – tuition and all fees assessed to my student account. You also accept responsibility for any additional costs related to your enrollment, including but not limited to, room, board, additional credited courses, penalties from withdrawals, and other department or college charges. Balances due as a result of loss/reduction of financial aid or other credits originally anticipated due to ineligibility, attendance, incomplete paperwork, etc., will be your responsibility to pay.

The Boston Conservatory at Berklee will place a Bursar Hold on your account if you have not made payment on a timely basis for services received or other transactions. The Bursar Hold will prevent future registrations, receiving transcripts or diplomas, residing in the resident halls, or other school services.

Should it be necessary for the Boston Conservatory at Berklee to place your account with a collection agency, you agree to reimburse the School the fees of any collection agency, which may be based on a percentage at the maximum of 50% of the debt, and all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees the school incurs in such collection efforts. You acknowledge that contact will be made by written, verbal, electronic or manual calling methods to telephone numbers and addresses associated with your account currently or in the future.

Telephone calls regarding your account may be recorded to assure quality and/or other reasons. The Boston Conservatory at Berklee reserves the right to report to credit bureaus.
 

By checking-in, you are indicating your intention to enroll and attend classes during the semester. If you are unable to enroll, it is your responsibility to notify the school.

Should you withdraw from a course after the end of the add/drop period, you will continue to be financially responsible for that course and will not be eligible for a tuition refund or replacement course. 

Furthermore, withdrawing from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee on or before the 60 percent point in the term (in calendar days) entitles you to keep only the portion of Title IV federal student aid that you have earned to that point. The unearned portion of Title IV federal financial aid will be returned to the appropriate aid programs. If you withdraw from the college after the 60 percent point of the term, you are considered to have earned all of your federal student aid for that semester. 

The Boston Conservatory at Berklee does not directly provide tuition insurance, and should you wish to purchase insurance for this or future semesters' tuition, you are encouraged to seek coverage through external providers such as A.W.G Dewar.
