Withdrawals and Refunds
How to Withdraw from a Berklee Course
After the deadline to drop a course has passed, students may withdraw from a course by submitting a Withdrawal from Courses form (login required). A withdrawn course will remain on a transcript with a grade of "W" (Withdrawn) and is not eligible for a tuition refund.
Please note: Withdrawn courses are considered attempted courses and, as such, may affect a student’s satisfactory academic progress (SAP). Withdrawn courses are not considered when calculating a student’s GPA. If you receive financial aid or veterans’ benefits, withdrawal from a course(s) may reduce your eligibility for aid. If you are an international student, withdrawal from a course(s) may jeopardize your F-1 Visa status.
There are many things to think through when considering a course withdrawal. You can visit a student success advisor during drop-in hours or reach out to your program advisor or department to see if it is the right choice for you.
Semester course withdrawal deadlines are listed in the Academic Calendar.

Other Refund Information
Fees
All fees are nonrefundable after the start of classes.
Tuition Credit
Students withdrawing before the end of the fourth week of classes in either the fall or spring semesters, or by the end of the third week of classes in the summer semester, are entitled to a credit of part of their tuition. No deduction is made for temporary absence, nor is any credit granted if students are suspended, dismissed, or leave Berklee without officially withdrawing. Learn more about receiving tuition credit after withdrawing from Berklee here.
Students also have the option to sign up for an additional tuition insurance program provided through GradGuard Tuition Insurance. This coverage supplements Berklee’s student refund policy. More information can be found at the Tuition Insurance page.
Financial Aid Recipients
Financial aid awards may be prorated or canceled upon withdrawal from Berklee, which may create a balance due. Contact One Stop for more information.
Housing
Students living in one of Berklee's residence halls must vacate the residence within 48 hours of withdrawing from Berklee. Those students should contact the Housing Office prior to leaving Berklee. Refunds are based on the student's checkout date from the residence hall, not the student's withdrawal date. The policies governing withdrawal from the residence halls are stated in the Housing Contract signed by the student.
Computer Purchase
Students withdrawing from Berklee are not eligible for a refund or credit for their computer purchase. Once the laptop has been picked up and signed for, there are no refunds.
