Alanna Underwood

Class of
Talent and Industry Programs Coordinator

Alanna Underwood (she/her) is a vocalist, performer, mentor, and proud alumna of Berklee College of Music, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance. As the talent and industry programs coordinator, she is focused on connecting with Berklee talent to build accessible industry pipelines for all students.

Underwood was previously at the prestigious Apollo Theater in Harlem, where she worked with some of the top artists, brands, and production agencies in the country. As a member of the theater operations team, she managed Apollo venues, licensing, and rentals, and she worked on the Verzuz event headlined by D’Angelo & Friends on Instagram Live.

While at Berklee, Underwood performed with Pharrell, Bebe Rexha, Lady Gaga, Aminé, Cissy Houston, Justin Timberlake, and Missy Elliott, among others.

Underwood mentored through music with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Greater Boston, and worked in Berklee’s Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship. She is the founder of Berklee's Jabulani Celebration, which honors the achievements and contributions of graduating students of African descent, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her work at Berklee was highlighted by the collegiate publication Her Campus, where she was recognized as one of ”22 Under 22 Most Inspiring College Women” in 2017.

Underwood is a proud New Yorker—a Brooklyn girl to be exact—and in her spare time, she’s a dog mom to her Yorkie, Ysabel, who loves long walks, naps, and peanut butter.
