Receive Credit for Your Internship Experience

Landed an internship? Use the steps below to get your internship registered for academic credit.

If you are not taking the internship for credit, enter your internship as a career outcome using our guide.

1. Submit your internship form in the Berklee Career Manager for approval.

Submitting your internship experience is your first step to gaining academic credit. To find out if you meet the requirements to receive academic credit approval for your internship, please review the academic credit eligibility criteria.

To submit your internship for approval:
  • Complete the internship form by logging into the Berklee Career Manager and navigate to the "Internships" section on the home page, then click "Add New Experience."
    • You will need to consider which internship course you will apply to from the internship course options. You will also be required to provide employer information, including supervisor contact information, and your learning objectives.

2. The Approval Process

The Career Center will review your submitted internship form for approval.

  • For international students, the Career Center will arrange work authorization (CPT) with the internship site supervisor in collaboration with International Student Services.
  • You will be contacted if additional information is needed and can check the status at any time through the Berklee Career Manager portal.

3. The Career Center processes your internship for course registration.

After your internship is approved, the Career Center will register you for the internship course. You will not be able to register for the course on your own through my.berklee (College) or Self-Service (Conservatory).

  • Conservatory students will also need to complete a cross-registration form to be added to the internship course. This will be provided to you via email from the Career Center.
  • Once you are registered, the Career Center will register you for the course and you will be added to a course section on Canvas. All internship courses are facilitated on Canvas and require the completion of assignments designed to enhance learning through critical reflection and evaluation.
