How to Apply

Take your first steps to joining the Berklee community.

Applying to the Berklee College of Music undergraduate program involves three primary steps:

Step 1

Submit Your Application Form:

Create your account on the application portal, and pay the nonrefundable fee to submit your application.

Step 2

Send Your Transcript:

Before you can receive your decision, you need to have transcripts (and possibly other supporting materials) sent from any school you attended.

Step 3

Confirm Your Audition and Interview:

After we receive your application, we’ll schedule your audition and interview based on the preferred sites you selected. Once scheduled, you'll be able to view and confirm this invite within the application portal

*Note: Prospective students do not apply to a specific department or major, but only for admission to the college. As a Berklee College of Music student, you will declare a major by your third semester.

Once you have successfully completed your application, here's what you should do next:

Step 4

Apply for Financial Aid:

You’ll be considered for a merit-based scholarship automatically through the admissions process. Make sure to look into other resources for financial aid. If you are a U.S. citizen, file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for aid.

Step 5

Check Your Status:

Throughout the process, we recommend you sign into the application portal regularly to ensure that the admissions team has received everything they need to issue your decision. Any outstanding items will appear in your application checklist.

Step 6

Get Your Decision:

We’ll send you an email when your admission decision is posted to the application portal. Your decision will also include information regarding any Berklee scholarship awards.
