What Do We Mean by "Family"?
The Office of New Student and Family Programs uses the word "family" intentionally to include parents, grandparents, siblings, guardians, spouses, significant others, partners, foster parents, and chosen family because we strive to honor all types of families. Our office serves the families of our students by offering resources that connect you with the institution and address your needs as family members of the Berklee community.

Favorite family artists: Alejandro Sanz, Luis Miguel, John Mayer, Lauren Daigle, Victor Wooten, For King and Country, and Juan Luis Guerra
Currently watching/reading: Currently reading the Bible and doing Bible journaling together as a family
How the family is supporting their student: The Azcona family created a special space for their student, Lanif, in their home. They placed Lanif's schedule on her door so family members know when her lessons are. They also encourage her to continue meeting weekly with friends over Zoom. Mother Mairym Azcona says, "Each student is different, but all students need love, compassion, and encouragement during these remote learning times. Our piece of advice is to continually check in with your student. Be understanding that moods can shift, and that's okay."
