This concert will showcase re-arrangements of Taiwanese classic songs in different genres, including funk, acoustic, samba, bossa nova, and folk. We aim to explore all possibilities of genre fusion and promote Taiwanese and Asian culture at Berklee.
Chinese pianist and composer Longfei Li, along with American bassist Evan Palmer and drummer Sam McCarthy, will explore a conversational approach to trio playing. Original compositions and free improvisations will be featured, as well as standard jazz repertoire.
Abel Puerta is a songwriter, arranger, and guitar player from Peru. He will perform some of the works he has arranged and composed during his years at Berklee in a variety of styles, like progressive rock, samba, disco, hip hop, funk, and pop.
In this recital, Giovanni Piacentini will be performing original music and his own arrangements of memorable movie themes and standards. The performance will feature an outstanding and versatile rhythm section and incredible special guests on wind instruments.
Wrapping up his time at Berklee, Peter Antinozzi will be presenting his own quartet with special guests performing music for the past, for the present, and the future. This concert will feature originals, standards, and modern classics.
