#BerkleeTogether Presents Holiday Performances

The virtual concert series continues this month with Brazilian artist Nathan Dies and a special holiday medley by the Trio.

December 7, 2020

The #BerkleeTogether concert series continues this month as Berklee students collaborate for special performances from across the country via Berklee’s YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages every two weeks on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. EST. December's performers will be Nathan Dies and the Trio.

Nathan Dies

Nathan Dies

On December 9, Nathan Dies will perform his original song “45 Rotations.” Dies came up in the Brazilian indie rock scene and has brought his talents as a composer, producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist to his studies at Berklee. Dies’s first bilingual song in Portuguese and English, “45 Rotations,” explores the process of moving and adapting to the United States while reconnecting with Brazil from abroad. For the #BerkleeTogether performance, Dies is performing virtually with Berklee students Andrea Bertesi (drums), Juanita Murchia Huertas (backing vocals), Malu Magri (backing vocals), Fernando Tavares (electric guitar), and Leslie Zani (electric guitar).

“It is necessary for musicians to keep creating during these times, for ourselves and as communicators,” says Dies from his home in Brooklyn, New York. “We have the power to create healing art for ourselves that, when shared, can spark empathy and communal connections. We are living in a moment that will be marked in history. As artists, our work can inspire and capture feelings of this moment in forms that are eternal.”

The Trio

On December 22, Berklee a cappella group the Trio will perform a special holiday medley showcasing their shared love for harmonies and vocal blending. The Trio comprises Berklee students Cardell Smart II (Atlanta, Georgia), Kirsten Henry (Norfolk, Massachusetts), and Adina Baptiste (Brooklyn, New York), who collaborate virtually across the country. With the holidays right around the corner, their special performance of “Sleigh Ride,” “Santa Baby,” and “Let It Snow” is the perfect way to close out the #BerkleeTogether 2020 season. This performance will be broadcast at 12:00 p.m. EST.
