A few seconds into the video of Dreion's performance live from Symphony Park in Boston, you'll understand why audience member and Berklee staffer Abria Smith took out her phone and started filming. Dreion's energy as he and his band sizzled through a James Brown tune took command of not just the audience present for the performance, but now of viewers all over the world. Smith's video has amassed 1.2 million views on Facebook, and the play count grows by the minute, with over a thousand enthusiastic comments to scroll through (here's Berklee's President Roger H. Brown: "that's what I'm talking about—the funky medicine we need more of in Boston").

Want to catch the Dreion wave in person? You can see his next Summer in the City show at Hyde Park this Thursday.
