Six Boston Conservatory Alumni Nominated for Tony Awards

Boston Conservatory alum Andrew Durand (BFA '08) received his first Tony nomination in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his role in Dead Outlaw.
Six alumni from Boston Conservatory at Berklee have been nominated for 2025 Tony Awards in several major categories: Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, Best New Play, Best Revival of a Play, and Best Revival of a Musical. In total, more than 30 Berklee alumni contributed to 13 Tony-nominated productions this year.
Boston Conservatory alum Andrew Durand (BFA '08) received his first Tony nomination in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his role in Dead Outlaw. He has been recognized by the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Lucille Lortel awards for his performance in the musical; he won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in an Off-Broadway Musical for Dead Outlaw in 2024.
Boston Conservatory alum Jennifer Simard (BFA '92) received her third Tony nomination in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her work as Helen Sharp in Death Becomes Her. She was nominated in the same category for her work in Company in 2022 and Disaster! in 2016.
Several Boston Conservatory musical theater alumni were also producers on nominated productions. Cedric Leiba Jr. (MM '05) was a coproducer on two nominated revivals—Gypsy, nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, and Our Town, nominated for Best Revival of a Play. Ben Simpson (BFA '11) and Joe Longthorne (BFA '12) were nominated in the category of Best Revival of a Play for Romeo + Juliet. Mike Mosallam (MM '06) was on the production team for John Proctor Is the Villain, nominated for Best New Play. Simpson has received four Tony Awards for his production work on Merrily We Roll Along, Parade, The Band’s Visit, and Hello, Dolly!. Longthorne received a 2018 Tony Award for coproducing The Band's Visit with Simpson. Mosallam won Tonys as coproducer for Appropriate (Best Revival of a Play) in 2024 and for Parade (Best Revival of a Musical) in 2023.
