Six Berklee Alumni Win at 2026 Emmy Awards

Six alumni from Berklee College of Music and Berklee Valencia received Emmy Awards for their work in animation, music direction, sound editing, and sound mixing ahead of the 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place on Monday, September 14.

Pablo Munguía PD ’98, director of Berklee Valencia's Music Production, Technology, and Innovation program, took home his eighth Emmy, winning in the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special. Munguía was a Pro Tools mixer for Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in February. Miguel Gandelman BM ’04 also won for his work on the performance in the category of Outstanding Music Direction. 

Luke Dennis MM ’15 won his second Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special for his work as music editor on Netflix’s Beef, following his first win last year in the same category for The Penguin.

Two alumni received awards for their contributions to Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay. Scott Michael Smith BM ’07, scoring mixer on the episode “What to Expect on Your Trip,” won for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation, while music editor Nate Underkuffler BM ’10 received an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing.

Trey Parker ’88, executive producer of South Park, took home the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program for the episode “Sermon on the ’Mount.” 

Overall, 26 Berklee alumni received Emmy nominations this year for their talents in voice work, mixing, editing, and composition on the industry’s most prominent programs and events.
