Biography

Megan O'Block is the author of two cookbooks: Cooking for My 3 Sons (2009) and Heart to Table: A Year of Cooking for the People I Love (2016). She also hosts a popular food blog, Diamonds Dishes. She loves to entertain and conducts cooking classes in her home. While cooking, she is known to blast a wide variety of music in her kitchen such as the Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, and Ella Fitzgerald, among others. She is researching her next book on Asian cuisine by traveling to the Far East and immersing herself in their cooking. 

A noted philanthropist, O'Block has experience in education, social services, and fashion. She has served in leadership roles at Families First, Brookline Music School, the Brookline Food Pantry, and Project Hope. She was a member of the Berklee College of Music President’s Advisory Council, cochaired the Berklee Encore Gala for two consecutive years, and is currently a member of the leadership council for Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She is an overseer of the Museum of Fine Arts, and the chair of the Museum of Fine Arts Fashion Council. She and her husband, Robert, are longtime supporters of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops. In recognition of their leadership and generous philanthropic support, the symphony named a room in their honor.  

O'Block has three sons, one of whom attended Berklee College of Music, and is currently a musician in Nashville, Tennessee. Besides cooking, she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and attending modern dance performances.
