Join us for an insightful and interactive session tailored to the unique experiences of Latinx college students. Led by María Cabané, associate director of Student Wellness Promotion and Servicesand Katt Sparks, counselor, Latinx Wellbeing: Learning to Manage Stress and Decompress is an event dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and equipping you with effective tools to navigate the challenges of college life while embracing your Latinx identity.

College can be an exciting time filled with new opportunities and personal growth, but it can also come with stress, academic pressures, and the need to balance multiple responsibilities. For Latinx students, there may be additional cultural, family, or identity-related stressors to manage.

During this event, you'll have the opportunity to

  • Explore effective stress management techniques, including mindfulness, self-care practices, and relaxation strategies.
  • Gain insights into how to navigate the intersection of cultural and academic expectations and how to seek support when needed.
  • Receive valuable information on available resources and support services both on and off campus.
  • Learn about the importance of mental health within the Latinx community and the unique challenges faced by Latinx college students and connect with fellow Latinx students in a supportive and understanding environment, fostering a sense of community.

This event is open to all students who identify as Latinx, as well as those interested in learning more about Latinx culture and the challenges faced by this community.
