Thrive Key Performance Indicators

To measure Berklee's progress towards the Thrive Strategic Direction, members from across the institution identified 13 key performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs serve as a quantitative frame of reference for Thrive's three key priorities:

  1. Enable students to graduate at higher rates with less debt.
  2. Support students to have a high-quality, engaging experience.
  3. Prepare students for purposeful, successful, sustainable careers.

While these KPIs do not provide detail on every initiative at Berklee, they represent overarching metrics that we hope will be impacted positively by work done by Berklee's faculty and staff. KPIs for each of Thrive's key priorities can be found below.

Six-year graduation rate of first-time full-time students entering Berklee, as reported to IPEDS

First-Year to Second-Year Retention

Percent of first-time, full-time undergraduate students retaining from their first fall to the second fall, as reported to IPEDS

KPI No. 3

Second-Year to Third-Year Retention

Percent of first-time, full-time undergraduate students who retained from their second fall to the third fall

First-Year to Third-Year Retention

Percent of first-time, full-time undergraduate students who retained from their first fall to the third fall

Average Student Debt at Graduation

Average per undergraduate borrower, cumulative principal borrowed loans

Percent of graduates who are "likely" or "very likely" to recommend Berklee to others

Satisfaction with Program of Study

Percent of graduates who are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their program of study at Berklee

Satisfaction with Service from Faculty and Staff

Percent of graduates who are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the service they received from faculty and staff

Satisfaction with Sense of Belonging and Community at Berklee

Percent of graduates who are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the sense of belonging and community they experienced at Berklee

 

Prepare Students for Purposeful, Successful, Sustainable Careers


 
KPI No. 10

Career Center Engagement Rate

Percent of graduates who engaged with the Career Center or International Career Center, including attending a career advising session or another service provided by the Career Center. 

Note: Data for 2020 will be reported in 2021.

KPI No. 11

Participation Rate in Career Center Activities

Percent of graduates who participated in at least one Career Center activity while at Berklee

Data for this KPI will be first collected and reported in 2021.

Satisfaction with Career Center Activities

Percent of graduates who participated in Career Center activities that are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with those activities

KPI No. 13

Satisfaction with Preparation for Plans After Berklee

Percent of graduates who report being "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with how Berklee prepared them for their plans after Berklee
