Boston Redevelopment Authority Task Force | Institutional Master Plan Notification Form (IMPNF)

Berklee College of Music is pleased to provide this Institutional Master Plan Notification Form (IMPNF) as a framework for its campus planning initiatives and development strategies during approximately the next ten years.

The college has been encouraged by the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), its own team of experienced advisors and the Berklee College of Music Community Task Force to develop its campus plans in a flexible and open manner so as to integrate the needs of the city and the college early in the IMPNF process. Berklee has voluntarily worked with city agencies and neighborhood groups for the past two years in advance of this submission to accomplish this goal.

Berklee has chosen to submit this IMPNF to present its overall campus goals and development strategies as described to the task force. This IMPNF describes the physical environment Berklee College of Music proposes to build to support its mission and long-term vision for its unique campus located in the neighborhoods of Back Bay and Fenway. It also addresses generally how Berklee proposes to develop mission-driven, very well designed, contemporary buildings that are appropriate to the college's location in two historic neighborhoods in the City of Boston.

Following the submission of this IMPNF, the BRA sought comments from various city agencies, the task force, and the public. Based on those comments and its own review of this IMPNF, the BRA has issued a Scoping Determination setting forth the analyses and information it will require in the Institutional Master Plan (IMP).
