Jennifer Horton
Jennifer Horton, president of Matrix Artists, is a seasoned music executive with more than 10 years of experience in the entertainment business. Since starting her company in 2009, she has established a track record of success in A&R and as a manager and entrepreneur. She was instrumental in the success of several major deals and three records that charted simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100: Chris Brown’s “Zero,” Post Malone's “White Iverson” (double platinum), and 2 Chainz’s “Watch Out” (certified gold).
Most recently, Horton has guided FKi 1st (Kanye West, Travis Scott, Post Malone) to expand from hit producer to notable DJ and artist. He signed with Diplo’s label Mad Decent to release the successful EP First Time for Everything (2016).
Horton has consulted for production companies and record labels such as Chris Brown Entertainment, Polo Molina/Grassroots Productions, Weight Records, and Young Money Entertainment, resulting in successful releases, joint venture deals, and offers from Universal Republic, Atlantic, RCA, Columbia, and Live Nation.
Horton has brokered deals for clients with brands and corporate clients including Samsung, Converse, Comcast, Princess Cruises, and W Hotels. She gives back to the music community through teaching and speaking engagements. In fall 2015, she joined the music business faculty at Los Angeles College of Music.
