The Boston Globe: Berklee Students Compose Music for a Feast
Ben Houge, an associate professor in Berklee's Electronic Production and Design Department, created a class called Music + offered by Berklee's Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE) that encouraged students to compose music to accompany a gourmet meal. In a recent article for the Boston Globe, staff writer Cristela Guerra covered the students' final projects: original music compositions served alongside a four-course meal prepared at America's Test Kitchen in Brookline.
“The big picture has students looking at the aesthetics, the psychological and technological aspects of pairing music with a meal,” Houge tells the Boston Globe. “It’s a soundtrack for a four-course meal. I think there’s been a growing interest in what sound can bring to the dining experience.”
