All entering and continuing students must follow
the housing application process and timeline as published by Housing and Residential Education. Students must be confirmed for on-campus housing before requesting a housing accommodation. Entering students are notified that they are confirmed for housing on May 7. Continuing students are notified the first week of April.
Housing accommodations should be requested each academic year. A separate request is needed for summer semester housing.
How do I request my housing or dietary accommodations?
All your accommodations can be requested through My Accessibility Portal (MAP).
- Submit the Housing and Dietary Accommodation Request in MAP.
- You will be asked to submit documentation of your disability or disabilities to Accessibility Resources.
- Schedule a welcome meeting with an Accessibility Resources staff member.
Important Deadlines and Information
Students are encouraged to complete the Housing Accommodation Request form through MAP by the recommended dates below. All steps to request a housing accommodation must be completed prior to the appropriate deadline. The steps include: submitting the request form, submitting documentation, and meeting with an Accessibility Resources staff member. Housing accommodation requests that are received after these deadlines will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Housing accommodations are based on room availability for requests submitted after these dates. The Office of Housing and Residential Life will notify the student of their specific housing assignment.
Boston Campus
- Fall semester:
- Continuing students: May 7
- Incoming students: June 1
- Spring semester: November 20
- Summer semester: May 7
- Summer programs (Aspire): June 22 (at least 2–3 weeks before the start date of the program)
Important Information on Recommended Housing Deadlines
Students seeking housing accommodations related to a disability must complete the Housing Accommodation Request form and submit all required medical documentation by the recommended dates listed below. To ensure timely review, all steps in the process should be completed by the deadline. Accommodations will be reviewed in the order of complete submission (i.e., application and supporting documentation). Requests submitted on time will receive full consideration and priority; however, accommodations are still subject to room availability and inventory. Once your housing offer has been confirmed and accepted, we strongly advise submitting your application and documentation promptly, as waiting until the deadline may limit our ability to review and process materials in a timely manner. Late requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Any approved accommodations after the indicated dates may be limited and/or subject to the wait-list. The Office of Housing and Residential Life will notify students of their housing accommodation assignments once placements have been finalized.
Guidelines for Requesting Housing Accommodations
- Students must be confirmed for on-campus housing before applying for housing accommodations through ARS.
- Housing accommodation requests must be based on the barriers and impact of a documented disability; preferences alone do not qualify for evaluation by ARS.
- Requests are considered for individual students only, and ARS cannot accommodate requests for specific roommates, suite mates, or residence halls.
- ARS makes every effort to review requests submitted by the recommended deadline; however, approval is not guaranteed, and processing timelines may vary depending on the complexity of the requested accommodation(s) and the documentation provided.
- Students must submit a new housing accommodation request each year once their on-campus housing status has been confirmed.
- If a housing accommodation request is approved, the Office of Housing and Residential Life is notified and oversees the housing arrangements, including placements and any necessary reassignments.

Documentation for Housing Accommodations

- a clear diagnostic statement of the student's diagnosis/disability.
- official letterhead (name, license/certification, area of specialization, credentials, contact information).
Documentation for Dietary Accommodations
Documentation should be submitted by a qualified medical provider and/or registered dietitian and include:
- supporting information regarding an accommodation that provides equal access to dining facilities;
- a list of allergies or restrictions and how they might affect the student's disability or disabilities;
- a clear diagnostic statement of the student's condition(s), including diagnosis/disability; and
- official letterhead (name, license/certification, area of specialization, credentials, contact information).
