Director of Campus Life

Rosemary Dowling, director of campus life, has been at Berklee for almost seven years. While not a musician, they consider themself an avid consumer of music, specifically musical theater. Prior to Berklee, they completed a Bachelor of Science in movement science, sport, and leisure studies, as well as a Master of Public Administration at Westfield State University.

In this role, Dowling oversees the behind-the-scenes aspects of student involvement, including New Student and Family Programs and Residential and Campus Life. Loren GlaserLoren Glaser photo

Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs

Loren Glaser has been at Berklee since February 2016. She previously worked as a resident director in housing and residential life at Wentworth Institute of Technology for four and a half years. Before that, she was an academic advisor for first-generation college students at the University of South Florida.

She has a bachelor's degree in public relations and a Master of Education in college student affairs, both from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Her current role involves organizing and managing orientation for entering students. Orientation is the first experience for new and entering students at Berklee. It revolves around all forms of artistry, providing a meaningful foundation to support students as they begin their academic and social journey and learn what it means to be a contributing member on the Berklee campus and the arts community.

Outside of Berklee, Glaser enjoys traveling, Boston sports, books, being active, strong coffee, anything Harry Potter–related, and good company. She was born in Texas and grew up in Florida before moving to New England in 2011. You can reach her at

Valerie Luutran

Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs

Valerie Luutran joined Berklee in July 2019. She earned a master's degree in higher education from Florida State University, where she worked with students in various capacities, including the Asian American Student Union/Student Government Association, service-based organizations, and first-year experience. 

She has a bachelor's degree in forensic science from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut. Her current role includes creating an engaging atmosphere for new students and families to learn about the resources and make the connections they'll need to have a vibrant, successful experience at Berklee. 

Outside of Berklee, Luutran loves to fill her free time with exploring Boston and New England. Her hobbies include listening to podcasts, being extra on Instagram, and watching terrible reality TV. She believes her life will be complete once she has a dog to go on adventures with her. You can reach her at
