Jordan Rudess (7:30 p.m.) and L’Rain (8:30 p.m.) perform in a rare, one-night-only concert exploring creativity, expanded expression, and the evolving relationship between artists and technology.

The evening begins with Jordan Rudess presenting jam_bot and other explorations from his ongoing research into expressive technology and AI-driven musical interaction. The jam_bot, created by PhD students Lancelot Blanchard and Perry Naseck, is in development in collaboration between Jordan Rudess and the Responsive Environments group at the MIT Media Lab. Long recognized as one of music’s leading innovators, Rudess continues to explore how emerging interfaces and intelligent systems can deepen musical interaction and real-time expression. This is a presentation of new creative tools and ideas at the intersection of music, technology, and improvisation.

The second set features L’Rain, one of today’s most compelling experimental artists, known for creating deeply personal and immersive work that blends sound, song, memory, and texture.

L’Rain’s work is rooted in human creativity, memory, texture, and experimentation. As part of her performance she will give a short talk. What would you like to ask her about her relationship to technology, creative process, and how artists are navigating the current conversation around AI? What questions or concerns do you have, inspired by your own creative processes and music education?

This concert brings together two boundary-pushing artists whose work reflects the summit’s central question: how do we keep the artist at the center as new technologies reshape musical possibility?
