Accessible Parking Locations
Accessible parking spaces are available at all of the garages and lots listed above. Accessible street parking spaces do exist in the Back Bay, but they are extremely limited. At present, eight spaces exist near the theater and are designated by street signs that mark the areas as reserved for accessible parking. An official placard noting your eligibility for accessible parking may be used in any parking space so designated. Other parking ordinances may be in effect. All designated parking rules should be obeyed. Massachusetts law allows vehicles with proper authority to disregard most—but not all—public meter fees. Note, however, that the Massachusetts Port Authority does not exempt meter fees for accessible parking. Do not park in a crosshatch area (zebra stripe) adjacent to an accessible space. This area is reserved for van ramp access.
- Two spaces exist on Belvedere Street, near Massachusetts Avenue.
- One space exists on Haviland Street, near the intersection of Hemenway Street.
- Two more spaces exist in front of 15 Hemenway Street.
- One space exists where St. Cecilia Street intersects with Boylston Street.
- Two spaces exist where Massachusetts Avenue intersects with Boylston Street, next to the old bank building.
All of these spaces are conveniently located within a short distance from Cafe 939. Please obey all posted signs. Due to street cleaning, public events, snow emergencies, or construction, availability and accessibility status of any given space is subject to change without notice.
Box Office Information
Cafe 939 opens approximately one hour before every show for ticket sales; however, many shows sell out in advance so it’s a good idea to get your tickets ahead of time. We cannot guarantee that night-of-show tickets will be available at the door.

Seating
Patrons with disabilities may purchase tickets from the general inventory online or in person at the box office. Advance notice for reserved seating on the basis of a disability is recommended due to limited space and a general admission layout. Please contact the ticket operations and patron services manager at 617-747-6272 in advance to reserve a section, or ask for the venue manager for assistance upon arrival. Shows are general admission/standing room-only unless otherwise noted.
Information regarding the particular needs of individual patrons is very important to us. If it is desired or necessary, patrons may advise us of an impairment, the size of a wheelchair (if applicable), or preference for using our seats or remaining in one’s own wheelchair, etc.
Note that patrons with disabilities may be admitted to the venue prior to the general public. Requests should be made at the box office or by asking for the venue manager at the front door. For further information or general inquiries, please call 617-747-6272.
Performers
A ramp on the left side of the venue leads to the green room on the left and access to the stage on the right.
Assistive Listening Devices
Listening devices for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for all performances to assist with amplification and clarity. A radio-transmitted receiver is attached to a lightweight headset or neck loop, which couples signals from the audio output to a personal hearing aid. Please contact the ticket operations and patron services manager at 617-747-6272 in advance to reserve an assisted listening device, or ask for the venue manager for assistance upon arrival. Use of a listening device is complimentary. A driver’s license, passport, or major credit card is required as a deposit and will be returned to the patron when the device is returned.
