Berklee City Music Network

Berklee City Music Network is a consortium of 45 community organizations across the United States, Canada, and Latin America committed to delivering high-quality contemporary music instruction to youth from underserved communities.

The network consists of out-of-schooltime programs that receive access to the Berklee PULSE Music Method, as well as other resources and support from Berklee College of Music.

    Joi Stubbs
    Class of 2029

    This spring, vocalist Joi Stubbs arrives at Berklee from Olive Branch, Mississippi, bringing with her a passion for funk and an exceptional musical ability. The singer first appeared on Berklee’s radar through Stax Music Academy in Memphis, Tennessee, one of 45 City Music Network sites. She’s gone on to attend Berklee Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive twice, thanks to two consecutive City Music Summer Scholarships. Stubbs is excited to take the next step in her journey.

    Jessica Barco Guerra
    Class of 2026

    Jessica Barco Guerra is a first-generation American and college student, proudly entering her junior year at Berklee, majoring in music business with a marketing track. On stage, she goes by her middle name, ‘Nayely(Opens in a new window),’ which comes from the Central American Zapotecs and translates to “I love you”—a fitting connection to her passion for music.

    Brian Washington
    Class of 2029

    Brian Washington’s love for drumming began almost as soon as he could hold a pair of sticks. Introduced to gospel music at an early age by his parents—both Berklee alumni—Washington’s musical journey was sparked in those formative years. As a scholar in Berklee City Music’s High School Academy and a graduate of Boston Arts Academy, he’s expanded his musical palette, adding a wide range of genres to his repertoire. He's now enrolled at Berklee College of Music. His ultimate goal? To tour the world as a professional musician.
