The Berklee City Music Network, a national network of organizations that provide contemporary music instruction, mentoring, and scholarship opportunities to underserved teens at no cost, announces its 44th and 45th partner sites: Renaissance Youth Center in Bronx, New York, and Camden Repertory Theater in Camden, New Jersey.

In joining the Berklee City Music Network, these sites gain access to PULSE, the college's innovative and interactive online curriculum, as well as resources to prepare their students for Berklee scholarships. Berklee's annual Encore Gala, held last month, raised more than $1.7 million to support Berklee City Music scholarships. Since its inception in 1991, the program has benefited 23,000 students and has awarded more than 1,500 scholarships for summer and full-time undergraduate studies.

Renaissance Youth Center in Bronx, New York offers a variety of educational programs, and produces concerts at housing developments, parks, and schools in New York City through its Music with a Message initiative. Its Music on Wheels programs provide music instructors and equipment for 1,300 students a week at more than 15 public schools.

Camden Repertory Theater in Camden, New Jersey uses the arts as a catalyst to increase high school graduation rates, increase college matriculation, provide jobs and apprentice training for returning college students, and more. It offers students opportunities to participate in music ensembles, musical theater productions, and private lessons.

Berklee City Music is a nonprofit education program that harnesses the energy of contemporary music to reach underserved 4th to 12th graders. Students dedicate themselves to building their musical talent, self-confidence, and the strength of their community. With year-round instruction, expert faculty, individualized mentoring, and a comprehensive curriculum, students are set up for success. Berklee City Music combines the breadth of Berklee resources, facilities, and scholarships with an environment of attention and encouragement.
