Date: June 6–9, 2019
Location: Berklee, Boston, MA
The 15th biennial Feminist Theory and Music conference will take place at Berklee's Boston campus from June 6 through 9, 2019, in collaboration with the International Alliance for Women in Music and in association with the Berklee's Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice and the Office of Academic Affairs.
This conference will bring together composers, performers, scholars, innovators, and improvisers who celebrate, challenge, and transform our future with cutting-edge music, music technology, and innovative scholarship.
New proposal deadline: January 15, with decisions by February 15
We invite the following proposals:
Abstracts for research that engage with feminist theory through music and sound, including, but not limited to intersectional considerations of how gender, sexuality, and race influence musical expression, composition, analysis, and performance practice.
Performance proposals for artistic works (acoustic, electroacoustic, interactive, and multimedia). Proposals engaging with the same theoretical issues of gender identity, sexual orientation, racial identity, or other forms of inclusion, diversity, and equity are especially encouraged.
You will receive more information over the coming months. Please contact email@example.com with any questions.
Please note: We are currently accepting submissions. For more information, see the Call for Proposals page.
