In a concert featuring legendary Grammy-winning jazz vibraphonist Gary Burton '62 '89H, influential Grammy-winning guitarist Bill Frisell '77, and acclaimed saxophonist Jim Odgren B.M. '76., Berklee's Signature Series celebrates the 80th birthday of composer and arranger Michael Gibbs '63.

Gibbs has worked with Pat Metheny '96H, John McLaughlin '17H, Joni Mitchell, John Scofield ’73 ‘97H, Whitney Houston, and Peter Gabriel, in addition to releasing a series of trailblazing recordings under his own name. As a faculty member at Berklee in the 1970s, he led a groundbreaking ensemble—the Only Chrome-Waterfall Orchestra—that has influenced composers and performers for generations. Burton, Frisell, and Odgren will be featured performers in this career-spanning concert, backed by the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra, directed Greg Hopkins, jazz composition professor.
