Students and faculty from the Bachata Academy in the Dominican Republic perform a bachata and merengue concert in collaboration with professor Ricardo Monzon’s ensemble.
Founded and led by Benjamin de Menil, the Bachata Academy aims to be the first school to teach bachata, an important part of Dominican cultural heritage. The academy’s mission is to mentor a new generation of bachateros and bachateras by providing rigorous musical training sessions that help them flourish as professional artists.
