Emergency/Urgent Situations

If you are living on campus or within the Berklee area, Public Safety is still operating and available in the event of an emergency that is occuring on campus during the business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT, or after hours. They can be reached at 617-747-8888.

Additionally, if you experience a mental health emergency, you may go to your local emergency room or dial 911 for emergency services in your area.

Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC)

For cases of sexual misconduct, anyone can call the BARCC’s 24/7 hotline at 800-841-8371 for confidential support, crisis counseling, and information. You can also use this form to request an appointment or counseling with BARCC. For additional resources about incidents involving discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct, please visit the Equity Resources page.


You may also contact the following for support: the Samaritans Helpline 24/7 at 877-870-4673 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255; also the Crisis Textline provides free, 24-hour emotional support by text at 741741 when you're in crisis and need to talk. A live, trained counselor will respond promptly and be available to provide support.

The programs use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and positive psychology to guide you as you build self-awareness and self-management skills for your emotional health.
