Berklee and the surrounding community offer a wealth of resources to address students’ needs in the event of an emergency or crisis. If you are unsure who to reach out to, contact Public Safety at 617-747-8888 or via the Rave Guardian app. They are able to respond in the event of an emergency at any time. Additionally, if you experience a mental or physical health emergency, you may go to your local emergency room or dial 911 for emergency services in your area. If you are a staff or faculty member concerned about a student, please utilize the Early Alert System.
Counseling Services
If you experience a mental health emergency (e.g., thoughts or feelings of hurting yourself or someone else, paralyzing depression or anxiety that limits everyday functioning) during business hours, we offer crisis stabilization without an appointment. These are typically 20- or 30-minute appointments that focus on immediate safety and stabilization. Call our main number at 617-747-2310, and let us know that you are having a mental health emergency. (Please note that this number is for use during regular business hours from Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.) We will work with you to determine the best way to help in the short term and make recommendations for follow-up. Similar to any urgent care or emergency room, one might have to wait for the next available clinician; however, we try our best to triage the most urgent situations.
