Born in Stillwater, Minnesota, Jonah Marais embarked on his musical journey in 2016 by livestreaming from his bedroom, building a following that led to cofounding the renowned band Why Don't We. Over their six years together, the group achieved remarkable milestones—amassing more than 9 billion global streams, earning two RIAA Platinum-certified singles, and five RIAA Gold-certified singles. With two top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 and sold-out tours at legendary venues worldwide, Marais has firmly established himself in the music scene with the band.

In June 2024, Marais took a bold step forward by releasing The Jonah Marais Mixtape—a collection of five songs that offers fans a raw and honest look into his personal journey. His standout single, “Slow Motion,” has surpassed 4 million streams and climbed to #28 on US Pop Radio, signaling his evolving artistry and resonance as a solo performer.

Named one of Amazon Music's 2025 Artists to Watch, Marais kicked off the year with a Times Square billboard and a yearlong campaign highlighting his rising solo career. He has been collaborating with Grammy Award-winning producer and writer Ryan Lewis and acclaimed director Jason Koenig (known for his work with Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, and Macklemore) on his highly anticipated debut solo EP, released in May 2025.

The EP's first single, “Better Place,” delves into mental health and the importance of seeking support, while the track “More Than Enough” offers a powerful reflection on navigating a mental health crisis and finding faith and sobriety. “More Than Enough” has already generated over 30 million impressions across social media, further proving Marais’s ability to connect deeply with listeners.

After a successful 2024 headline tour, a spring 2025 European run, and a May tour alongside Nightly—culminating at Nashville, Tennessee's iconic Ryman Auditorium—Marais continues to captivate audiences across the globe. His upcoming Hearts Back Home tour, kicking off in October in Nashville, will carry forward his mission of connection, vulnerability, and community.

With undeniable talent and an unwavering passion for storytelling through music, Marais is poised to make a lasting impact as a solo artist.
