Fresh Prospects: HeadFirst/Woodfern
The Red Room at Cafe 939 proudly presents Fresh Prospects, a free concert series spotlighting Boston’s emerging artists. Curated by Berklee students with an ear for talent, this series offers an intimate glimpse into the music scene’s future, featuring local performers making waves and capturing attention.
HeadFirst is a grunge and alternative rock band consisting of Siraj Husainy, Coby Conrad, and Bima Wirayudha. Their music takes the hard-hitting guitar riffs and catchy melodies of grunge and infuses them with a Y2K twist, resulting in a listening experience like no other. Having just released their EP, The Villain, the group is currently preparing for their album, Modern Role Models, to release in 2025. They are playing their unreleased songs for their fans at live shows. Critics have compared the sound of HeadFirst to the likes of Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr., and Basement.
Drew Parker (Woodfern) is an emerging singer-songwriter based in Boston and Seattle whose music is heavily inspired by artists like Bon Iver, Novo Amor, Adrianne Lenker, and Pinegrove.
