Will Littlejohn is the director of sound design at Facebook and a lifelong audio fanatic. As a sound designer, post-production supervisor, and music producer, he has more than 20 years of audio design experience in film, television, commercials, games, and product development.
Fascinated by human-machine interaction, Littlejohn has designed iconic interface sounds heard in hundreds of millions of cellphones worldwide, as well as devices and apps such as the Jawbone Jambox and Facebook Messenger. In addition to his device work, he has contributed to more than 90 game projects, including sound design for Blade Runner, the critically acclaimed PC title created by Westwood Studios, and executive producer, music producer, and lead mixer for Guitar Hero, an AIAS and BAFTA winner for Best Soundtrack. He also was the audio post supervisor for Canhead, the Academy Award–nominated short film by Tim Hittle, and sound effects editor for Bump in the Night, the ABC Saturday morning stop-motion animated series.
Littlejohn started his career as a professional musician, touring full time for 10 years before cofounding the sound design firm WaveGroup in 1995. At Facebook, he guides the audio design group, activating the sense of sound in products ranging from mobile apps to virtual reality experiences.
