Student information and records are legally protected, and Berklee cannot share them with third-parties, including parents, spouses, or financial sponsors. However, students may choose to grant you access. As an authorized user or “proxy,” you have access to certain aspects of your student’s MyBerklee account. Depending on the permissions granted by the student, you may do some or all of the following:
- View account activity (financial information and statements)
- Make a payment
- View the student’s grades
As an authorized user, you can access the relevant information at my.berklee.edu or by contacting a Berklee representative by phone or email.
You may also receive emails about billing and deadlines.
Once granted access, you have access to your student’s account until the student revokes your access, or until six months after your student’s graduation or 14 months after your student leaves Berklee.

Why can’t I see other information about my student?
Under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, Berklee is prohibited from sharing certain information from a student’s education records to a third party, including the student’s parents, spouse, or financial sponsor. This protects students’ academic and financial record, including: grades; billing; assessment of tuition and fees; financial aid (including scholarships, grants, work-study, or loan amounts); and other student education record information. The only way for a third party to access a student’s account details is if the student adds them as an authorized user.
Additional information on policies and procedures relating to Berklee’s compliance with FERPA can be found in the annual Policy Handbook for Students.
For Berklee Online students, please refer to the undergraduate or graduate student policies for more information about FERPA.
