Sunset Mission and Emporia present an exciting night of progressive rock and metal at the Red Room to celebrate the release of Kim Chin-Gibbons’s album, Coming Out, Math-Rock & Mourning Murder. At this event, music soars to new heights as both bands deliver a thrilling take on various technical-forward genres of music.

Influenced by Animals as Leaders, Renaissance, Pain of Salvation, and Meshuggah to name a few, these bands have an unforgettable, face-melting night of music in store for you.

Toy Monsoon is a Boston-based power pop trio led by brothers Jeff and Andy Abbott, who were born and raised in Woburn, Massachusetts. Drawing from the melodic rush of mid-to-late 1960s and early 1970s power pop, their sound blends bright hooks and vocal harmony with a driving rock edge.

Influenced by artists such as Todd Rundgren, Harry Nilsson, and classic British Invasion power pop, Toy Monsoon pairs inventive songwriting with live three-part harmonies that set them apart as a trio. Their songs balance intimate, personal ballads with expansive, hard-edged rock arrangements.

Toy Monsoon has completed their debut full-length album, scheduled for release in summer 2026, and is currently performing live throughout the Boston area.
