The Signature Series presents Grammy-nominated vocalist, songwriter, and producer Gretchen Parlato leading the Gretchen Parlato Berklee Ensemble.
Matthew Stevens, associate professor in the Ensemble Department, selected the students performing with Parlato and rehearsed them in preparation for the concert. Parlato has collaborated with many artists, including Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Barron, esperanza spalding BM ’05, Terence Blanchard, Marcus Miller, and Lionel Loueke PD ’00.
Known for her intimate sound and rhythmic elegance, she has released acclaimed albums including Flor, Live in NYC, and Lean In with Lionel Loueke. A winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition, Parlato has performed worldwide at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center. Currently based in Los Angeles, California, she continues to inspire with new music set for release in 2026.
