Unified: The Art of the Diaspora
Unified is a dynamic, student-led celebration of African diaspora art at Berklee College of Music, uniting diverse performers and organizations in a vibrant showcase of culture, collaboration, and community. Showcasing talent from both Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music, the performance will be led by a team of Afro-Unity student leaders. This collective network of Black student leaders on campus represents a variety of Berklee clubs and organizations, including the Africana Studies Club, the Student Government Association, the Black Scholars Initiative, the Black Student Union (College), the Black Student Alliance (Conservatory), the African Students Union, and the Caribbean Club.
This show aims to highlight the importance of authentic cultural representation while simultaneously enriching the cultural diversity and richness of our campus. The performances will feature students of the diaspora alongside individuals of any identity who appreciate and honor the art of the African diaspora.
This dynamic event fuses visual and sonic elements, presenting performances that represent regions across the African continent and diaspora. The showcase will highlight vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, actors, and spoken-word artists, and more.
