Music and Health Hackathon Team Finalists

Four teams of hackers have been selected as finalists in the Music and Health Innovation Challenge Hackathon. The teams will make final pitch presentations in October to a panel of judges at Boston's Hubweek, billed as a celebration of innovative thought leaders from the fields of art, science, and technology.

Team EvrHome provides older adults an opportunity to explore their past, connect with family members, and preserve their memories in a multimodal virtual reality and music experience.

Team Muser

Muser measures biometric data through a wearable sensor ring called Oura. As people listen to music, the wearable measures data on respiration, blood pressure, and other vital metrics for observing the healthy development of an individual recovering from opioid addiction.

ALMA is a mental health solution for the elderly that connects therapists to patients through creative shared musical experiences.



SPRYTHM is an app designed to encourage breathing exercises by patients when they are in the hospital and after recovery from surgery by using the healing power of music and a smartphone-connected device. Read more in this Boston Globe article.
