Reach Independence through Support and Engagement (RISE) invites students to an orientation event. Details are in the Berklee Fall 2026 New Student Orientation Week event on the Cadence app.
What is a first-generation student?
Berklee defines "first generation" as “any student whose parent(s) or guardian(s) did not complete a bachelor’s degree, and/or the student has no current contact with their parent(s) or guardian(s), regardless of degree completion.” If any of this sounds familiar, you are welcome to participate in RISE.
Why join?
We aim to help first-generation college students reach independence through support and engagement by better navigating their Berklee experience with student-centric programming, social opportunities, and parent/family connections. In addition, first-semester students are eligible for a bookstore voucher in their second semester if they attend two or more RISE events in their first semester and maintain academic and disciplinary requirements.
