Music Academy International (MAI) is in Nancy, France, located in the heart of Europe. MAI is a professional training center where you'll meet and exchange ideas with students from all over Europe and beyond. For 35 years, MAI has provided professional instructors and performing arts professionals to its 10,000 students and 6,000 graduates.
Benefits for Students
MAI is a one-year program that can be extended to an upper program in the second year, with 31–35 hours of courses, ensembles and private lessons per week. At MAI, you will learn how to play contemporary music such as metal, rock, pop, world music, reggae, and jazz. You will choose a minimum of three ensembles and be trained to be a lead musician or a sideman. Also, MAI has a sound engineering and a music production program. Every program works in synergy. For non-European citizens, MAI is a partner with Campus France, a French organization that helps students with administration, among other things, so that they can settle in Nancy while studying. As a global partner, every year a band from Berklee comes to the Nancy Jazz Pulsation Festival. Berklee and MAI regularly organize auditions for those students who want to continue their studies at Berklee. A scholarship may be provided to some continuing students at Berklee.
