Troy Ramey and Johnny Gates, with Special Guest Butterchild

Troy Ramey has an inherent ability to reveal his pain and draw you into his music; it is evident on his critically acclaimed debut EP When the Lights Came, featuring the haunting, introspective singles “Rosary” and “Song Man.”

After his father died during his sophomore year of college, Ramey transferred to Boston College. One day, he was overheard singing at work by local musicians. They invited him to join them for a series of jam sessions, and he honed his craft, using music as a way to grieve. In 2013, Ramey relocated to New York City to advance his career, eventually joining forces with accomplished producer Dante Lattanzi. Together, they have impressed industry leaders, attracted enthusiastic new fans, and caught the attention of the NBC singing competition The Voice.

Johnny Gates, a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California, is originally from Providence, Rhode Island. He started his first band in high school and, after a few years playing in the Providence area, Gates decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee. After working with some of the industry's biggest names in Music City, he moved to Los Angeles with his band, Runaway Saints. Gates has gone on multiple U.S. tours with the band, become a fixture at the prestigious Hotel Cafe, opened for Rod Stewart, and successfully auditioned for The Voice. Gates is working on his debut EP. 

Butterchild is a funk/soul band composed of five childhood friends who have played together for more than a decade. In 2010, they formed the WonderMics, gigging around New England for five years, playing a mixture of funk, soul, and hip-hop. In 2016, the band decided to rebrand as Butterchild. It continues in the tradition of the WonderMics, but with new sounds, more complex songwriting, and an emphasis on vocal harmonies.
