The Apparatus Trio is a boundary-pushing jazz fusion group redefining the edges of groove, improvisation, and modern sonic textures. Formed at Berklee College of Music and led by pianist/producer Joseph Naszady, the trio blends virtuosic musicianship with an experimental spirit, drawing influence from the traditions of jazz while channeling the pulse of hip-hop, pop, R&B, and electronic music.

In addition to their original compositions, the Apparatus Trio is known for reimagining popular songs, spanning everything from neo-soul to indie rock, in their signature fusion style. These inventive arrangements breathe new life into familiar melodies, combining tight rhythmic interplay, lush harmonic reharmonizations, and exploratory improvisation.

With each member contributing original material and creative direction, the group functions like a living machine, complex, expressive, and always evolving. Whether in the studio or on stage, the Apparatus Trio creates an immersive experience where raw improvisation meets refined artistry.

The Apparatus Trio will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2026 concert series. View series schedule.
