The spectacular and vibrant Soweto Gospel Choir(Opens in a new window), winners of two Grammy Awards, returns to Boston with Songs of the Free, a special program celebrating the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela.
Songs of the Free will include South African classics as well as freedom songs and gospel music much loved by Mandela, in front of whom the choir had the privilege of performing multiple times. A favorite of Celebrity Series audiences, Soweto Gospel Choir has performed to sold-out crowds at concert halls around the world and alongside superstars such as Bono, John Legend, Josh Groban, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder. Be uplifted.
