Olivia Pérez Collellmir is a solo pianist, bandleader, and composer from Barcelona, Spain. She started playing piano at the age of five and began studying under Núria Bonells, a disciple of Alicia de Larrocha, at eight. Between the ages of 18 and 20, Collellmir participated as a scholar pianist at the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona and toured Spain performing Faure's Nocturnes and Bach's Partitas, and recording for national radio. In addition, she was selected to play at the Centre de Musique Hindemith in Switzerland on the international performance piano stage. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in classical performance at the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, she became a teacher and head of the Music Department.
Collellmir created a choir and conducted, recorded, toured, and performed with the choir for the education minister of Catalonia before moving to Boston in 2014 to expand her studies within the idioms of jazz and multicultural music. Since coming to Berklee, she has discovered a passion for composition and was selected two years in a row to perform her pieces at the Berklee Performance Center. She has accompanied Rosana Arbelo, a Spanish Grammy Award winner, and organized, led, arranged, and played in her multicultural project, When the Cultures Converge. She was recently awarded Berklee's Piano Department Chair Award.
