Fresh off two performances together at the Monterey Jazz Festival, master saxophonist George Garzone and the Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors will perform The World of Garzone, a program made up of Garzone’s favorite original compositions from his critically acclaimed performing and recording career.

The student performers, graduate students from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, are Faris Ishaq on Arabic flute, Matt Stubbs on clarinet, Milena Casado on flugelhorn, Anastassiya Petrova on piano, Noam Tanzer on bass, and Ilya Blazh on drums. Also sitting in will be bassist Nick Isherwood, the 2019 Jimmy Lyons Scholar from Spokane, Washington.

The performance will be broadcast as a part of WBGO’s The Checkout—Live at Berklee multimedia concert series. Past artists on the broadcast have included Joe Lovano, Ingrid Jensen, Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah, and Melissa Aldana, among others. For those not in Boston to see the show at the Red Room, it will be webcast live from WBGO in HD video.
