The Red Room at Cafe 939 proudly presents Fresh Prospects, a free concert series spotlighting emerging artists. Curated by Berklee students with an ear for talent, this series offers an intimate glimpse into the music scene’s future, featuring local performers making waves and capturing attention.

Hadley Johnson is a 19-year-old indie pop/folk singer-songwriter from Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She grew up playing a medley of instruments and began writing songs at 13. Since then, she has performed at venues throughout Portland and Boston. In January 2026, she released her debut EP, The Idea of Me, which tells stories of young love and loss and explores themes of coming-of-age and moving on. Throughout her music, Johnson prioritizes sharing authentic stories through heartfelt lyrics and intimate arrangements. In doing so, she encourages listeners to explore their own vulnerability and take comfort in knowing they aren’t alone.

Maya Salafia is an indie-pop singer-songwriter based in Boston, Massachusetts. Known for her striking mix of raw emotion, killer hooks, and honest lyrics, Salafia’s sound is the soundtrack to life’s messy moments. Whether you’re falling hard, falling apart, or just trying to figure it all out, her music takes you there. Salafia released her debut album, Girl Like Her, in February 2026 on all streaming platforms. Exploring themes of falling in love and self-discovery, Girl Like Her brings a new level of vulnerability and truth to the indie-pop scene. Salafia’s music has been featured on numerous music review blogs, radio shows, and websites. She has performed live at various clubs, coffeehouses, and festivals throughout New England and is excited to continue her journey connecting with new audiences.
