Devesh Iyer is a guitarist from Pune, India, known for a soulful, versatile approach that bridges jazz, blues, rock, and metal. Though his foundations are rooted in the study and performance of rock and metal legends, Iyer’s discovery of R&B and soul sparked a pivotal transition into the worlds of jazz and fusion. Today, these genres form the core of his musical identity, driving him to seek a profound emotional and spiritual connection through his instrument. He draws primary inspiration from a wide-ranging lineage of artists, including John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, and contemporary voices like Hiromi and Robert Glasper.
Now in his final semester at Berklee College of Music, Iyer is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in professional music, specializing in guitar performance and jazz composition. His goal is to continue to try to provide spiritual and emotional experiences for listeners through his music, and to foster lasting relationships with people all over the world.
