OddSong is a unique chamber jazz ensemble and compositional vehicle put together by Darrell Katz, director of the Jazz Composers Alliance (JCA). It’s a saxophone quartet, expanded with the addition of voice, violin, and marimba.

OddSong's performers are: Rebecca Shrimpton (voice), Jim Hobbs, Rick Stone, Phil Scarff, Melanie Howell Brooks (saxophones), Helen Sherrah-Davies (violin), and Vessela Stoyanova (marimba).

The music is by Darrell Katz, with additional music by Helen Sherrah-Davies. This is adventurous, multistylistic music, with a wide range of influences, including blues, world music, contemporary chamber music, spoken word, collective improvisation, and more.

OddSong just released its first album, Jailhouse Doc with Holes in Her Socks, to much critical acclaim.
