Children’s Opera: Little Red’s Most Unusual Day
Little Red’s Most Unusual Day is a comedic opera conceived by John Davies that reimagines the classic Little Red Riding Hood tale with a focus on a romantic misunderstanding between Forest Ranger Dudley and Little Red’s mother—based on music from operas by Jacques Offenbach and Giaochino Rossini. Dudley leaves a love note for Little Red’s mom, but the basket gets delivered to Granny. This leads to chaos as Granny thinks the invitation is for her; and the Wolf, using the confusion and Ranger Dudley’s uniform, ends up trying to woo Granny instead of eating anyone.
In addition to this on-campus performance, Boston Conservatory students will perform Little Red’s Most Unusual Day at the Boston Children’s Museum, March 5–6, with showings at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. both days.
