Ángela Varo is an Andalusian violinist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator. Her music is a fusion of jazz and flamenco violin, inspired by the rich cultural heritage of her region. Varo's skill and dedication to music were recognized early on, and she received a full scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music. She has recently performed at Chicago Symphony Hall featuring Danilo Pérez, Brian Blade, John Patitucci, and Danilo Pérez’s Global Messengers featuring Bahar Badieitabar, Farayi Malek, and George Lernis. She earned a double degree in contemporary writing and production and jazz performance as well as a minor in jazz composition, and she is currently working on her master's degree program from the Global Jazz Institute Program, directed by Danilo Pérez. She has received several awards and scholarships, including the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Scholarship.

Varo has performed at various venues and events worldwide, including the Panama Jazz Festival, the Vermont Jazz Center Festival, the New Standards Vol 1. presentation program with the Jazz and Gender Justice Institute, and the 2022 Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit as a side-women for Danilo Pérez's Global Messengers. She has also collaborated with the acclaimed Andalusian electronic-flamenco fusion group, Califato 3/4.

Varo continues to develop her skills under the guidance of renowned educators such as Danilo Pérez, Kris Davis, George Garzone, Terri Lyne Carrington, Adam Cruz, John Patitucci, Nascem Alatrash, Joe Lovano, Tony Malaby, Francisco Mela, Marco Pignataro, and Bruno Raberg. In addition to her musical pursuits, Varo is also developing her master's thesis "Perpen" (Bridge), which focuses on transcribing and performing music from the Roma ethnic spectrum, a part of Varo's heritage. Through her work, Varo aims to bridge the gap between traditional music and modern innovation, breathing new life into the sounds of her culture.
