Director of Community Standards

Michelle Quiñones has been at Berklee since July 2015. She previously served as director of community standards at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Prior to that, she served as a coordinator in the Office of Student Conduct at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando for three years. She also worked for the UCF Police Department in the Victim Services Unit for four years before transitioning into the field of student conduct.

She obtained a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from UCF. She also pursued her graduate studies there, earning a Master of Science in criminal justice.

She is committed to creating a strong community experience for all students, and she works to educate and hold students accountable to the high standards and expectations of Berklee. Some of her hobbies include reading, drawing, spending time in nature, and anything to do with animals or Disney. You can reach her at communitystandards@berklee.edu.

Alexis Piñero-Benson

Assistant Director of Community Standards

Alexis Piñero-Benson has been at Berklee since August 2014. Prior to Berklee, he served as an area coordinator at Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut, and as an area coordinator at Barry University in Miami, Florida. He has also served as assistant director of student life at Tanglewood Music Festival, assistant dean of students for Brevard Music Institute and Festival, and director of campus life at Bowdoin International Music Festival.

He received a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in voice performance with a minor in collaborative piano from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, Theater and Dance in Winchester, Virginia. He was the last student of the late Jackson H. Sheats and a recipient of the Jackson H. Sheats Endowed Scholarship of Music. He is also a lifetime member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

His ultimate goal is for students to develop lives of consequence and create healthy habits that will support an artist's journey. Outside of Berklee, he enjoys performing domestically and internationally, and finds time to build his growing private voice studios in Boston and Hartford, Connecticut. He has held voice faculty positions at Barry University and Mitchell College, and presently serves as the Jeannette Vandemoter Visiting Artist in Residence Voice Faculty at Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio.
