Submit an original piece of art for the seventh annual Community Values Art Contest, sponsored by the Office of Community Standards & Conflict Resolution.

This year's theme is "The Power of Empathy."  Empathy is defined as "the ability to understand and share the feelings of another."  What role does empathy play in resolving conflict?  How do you show empathy to others in the community? How does it feel when you are shown empathy?

Three winners will be chosen. First place will receive $300, second place will receive $200, and third place will receive $100.

Submission instructions:

  • Deliver your submission to the Office of Community Standards & Conflict Resolution, located in 155 Mass Ave, 4th floor, Student Life suite by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023. Submissions may be dropped off prior to the deadline date.
  • Your submission must include your name, year, Berklee email, medium of artwork, title of piece, and an artist statement that includes a description of what your artwork represents.
  • All art must be original to the artist. Art may be in two or three-dimensional format but should be able to be displayed on a wall. Digital submissions will not be accepted.
  • Selected works of art will be displayed on campus during the spring 2024 term. Entries will be judged on creativity and how well they represent the theme.
  • Community Standards & Conflict Resolution is not responsible for lost or damaged artwork. Submitted artwork will not be returned.
