Italian Songbook with Scanzonati: Voices of the Mediterranean is a dynamic concert experience where Italian and Mediterranean songwriting is reimagined through contemporary jazz, improvisation, and multilingual expression.

Led by Stefano Marchese and Andrea Pejrolo, Scanzonati presents original compositions and newly arranged works inspired by the Italian song tradition, blending Mediterranean influences with modern harmonic language and spontaneous musical interaction.

The performance features a contemporary ensemble including voice, saxophone, guitar, bass, and drums, enriched by a diverse group of special guest artists from the Berklee community and beyond. Additional instrumentation and voices will contribute to a layered and evolving sonic palette throughout the evening.

The program includes music composed and arranged by Marchese, Pejrolo, and ensemble collaborators, highlighting a range of styles rooted in Italian and Mediterranean traditions while embracing a contemporary, globally informed sound.

Bringing together voices, rhythm, and collaborative artistry, Italian Songbook celebrates music as a vehicle for storytelling, cultural connection, and shared expression.
